Digital Currents was a very frustrating site for me. I tried linking to a bunch of different artists and all of them wouldn't connect to that artist's page. I did get to connect with a couple of links. One of the links I got to was the No Place artist. It was kind of ironic because in class right not we're working on merging shapes and making all these shapes into a whole bunch of little designs in adobe illustrator. I find that to be a lot of fun, so I'm sure this artist had fun with his type of art. He would take images or different movie clips from the internet ( you tube, google searches, etc.) and he would combine them and make a piece of work that included all of those elements. It was somewhat inspiring for our shapes project in computer. I was also able to look at the time line sort of thing that was on the digital currents site. I appreciated that because it would be a very good source to study for an art history test, and we all know how insane those tests are, so any sort of help will help in that area. I also got to read on the Disseminet site. It was kind of intense reading the stories of being take away in a helicopter and being seperated from his/her parents and sisters, but once again I couldn't find any artwork on this site. I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but I thought there would be more artwork. I also got to visit the ECafe website...I liked this one a lot because for one it wasn't as confusing to figure out as the other websites and what the artist does was interesting. Her one installation includes a 30 minute dvd and an inviting couch to sit on and watch...I'd be down for that anytime =). Anyways I put the link up for the overall site...so maybe you'll have better luck with it then I did! That's all for now.
