Third Tuesday Lecture

Todays lecture was a little bit better then the one from last week. I have to say though that the first one is going to be a hard one to beat entertainment wise. I feel like whoever schedules people to come in for the lectures went wrong when scheduling the three alumni guys to come back and talk. I mean I know they probably couldn't help it but it's apparent that we all keep wondering who will beat that lecture out. Anyways back to this weeks lecture. I really loved her work. I feel like she was the first older artist I have ever meet that I can really relate with her work. The work she has done is very beautiful and very unique. It amazes me how she could take a skull and make it such a beautiful thing to look at. I felt like asking her if I could buy some of her work right on the spot but I know I don't have the money for it at all right now haha. She also inspired me to decorate a room to make it look like she did. I loved her one piece with the gold flower wall paper with the gold flowers kind of falling out of the wall paper on the one side and the black lamps and black table just were really eye catching and well put together. Also I loved how she was influenced by music to make art...kind of because right now in 2d we are working on how music moves us to make all different kinds of marks. Overall I loved her work, but it's just the slide shows that kill me...I really wish when artist would come in they would bring the actual work if that would be at all possible. That's all for now!
